Step Up Dance Classes:
January 2011 saw the launch of an exclusive partnership between Esporta Health Clubs and Universal Studio’s Step Up franchise.
Chris developed the concept of delivering classes to children based on the content of the DVD and worked to confirm the partnership that has seen 17 of Esporta’s family health, fitness and racquets clubs exclusively delivering Street Dance courses linked to the launch of the ‘Step Up The Dance Out’ DVD on 27th December.
Tasked with bringing a tired brand back to life, Chris completed research with over 400 children before working with a design agency to develop a new logo and characters for the family friendly product with an annual turnover of £1.1m.
A full Operations Manual with standardised session plans was written and complemented a national tour of training courses for over 200 Party Hosts across the country
After watching the 2008 series of Britain’s Got Talent and seeing Strike pair Danny Ball and Liam Richards wow the judges along with over 15 million viewers, Chris approached the pair with the idea of taking performance martial arts and developing it into a product which could be delivered in Leisure Centres across the country. After 6-months of development work the product had it’s media launch at Willesden Sports Centre in London in early 2009 before being featured on legendary children’s programme Blue Peter. Syllabus manuals and coaching DVD’s for children were created along with a two-day training course for budding instructors across the country.
Thomas Cook ‘Fun Fitness’:
2009 saw Chris working with the E3 Group to develop and subsequently deliver a ‘Fun Fitness’ Training Programme for over 150 Entertainers working for Thomas Cook and Hi Hotels across Europe. The aim was to provide credible ‘Fun Fitness’ training sessions that the Entertainment Teams could personally deliver to both children and adult guests out in resorts.
Working with Entertainers from various countries across Europe, the interactive training workshops held out in Mallorca covered everything from practical beach circuits and aerobics classes to seminars on teaching children and ‘keeping it simple’.
BBC Sports Academy:
Whilst working for the Brazilian Soccer Schools network in Leeds, Chris coordinated the filming of ten mini coaching videos in the build up to the 2006 World Cup using students from his classes held at Garforth Town Football Club. Each of the video clips were available to view via the Interactive Button on any BBC Channel in addition to the BBC Sports Academy website.
“Chris has worked on two projects for Challenger Sports over the last two years. He first developed an age group specific curriculum for our Tetra Brazil soccer camps and then has worked on another project developing another age group specific curriculum for our MiniKicker Soccer programme for 2 - 5 year olds.
Chris has a wealth of knowledge and experience in designing and implementing fitness/sports programmes and has a rare ability to combine creative and logical thinking in his project development. He also brings the training element to the table and does a tremendous job of implementing a child centered approach to training/coaching and does it in a fun and positive environment.
We look forward to working with Chris on other projects and I'm proud to have him as part of our team. I would highly recommend him to any sports/fitness/child education organization."

Senior Vice President (Challenger Sports Corporation)
"I first met Chris as the Head of Retail Services for the Esporta Health Club chain while we were discussing a new project. He facilitated the group sessions we participated in expertly, ensuring full group participation, while keeping his eye firmly on the goal. While being commercially very astute, he was excellent to work with and he was very true to the integrity of the products we were discussing, while ensuring a genuine win:win attitude throughout the planning and execution of the project. I hope to work with Chris in the future, as I believe he is a man with integrity and that his involvement in any project or business/organisation will ensure success. "
Martin Haines, Managing Director
Intelligent Training Systems
“I first met Chris whilst he was still working for Esporta, but it was early last year when we first began doing business together. I have to say that working with Chris, and his business partner Rachael Pountney, was an absolute pleasure.
From concept, right through to delivery, every project was meticulously planned, down to a finite detail. It is clear to see why iKidz is already such a success and definitely one to watch out for, and very obvious that both Chris and Rachael are experts in their field. Two open minded, highly intelligent and creative individuals. I would have no hesitation in recommending them as individuals or any company they are associated with. I look forward to working with them again on our next project.”
Managing Director (Three Spires Consulting Ltd)
